"You
are the branches."
DEACONS
Our deacons lead us in a ministry of care and compassion.
They are
involved in the local Food Banks. They sponsor Project Angel Tree, a
Christmas project for children of prisoners. They minister to
members in nursing homes and those in bereavement. They
prepare
communion, administer a scholarship for high school seniors going to
college, and collect clothing and food for the needy.
FAMILY AND FELLOWSHIP
This ministry's objective is to plan and promote
activities that
encourage Christian fellowship. Various potlucks, dining for eight, the
all-church picnic, holiday bazaar, Advent festival, Wednesday
night gatherings, and all church birthday party are examples of these
activities as is the coffee hour after church.
BUILDINGS
AND GROUNDS
Buildings and Grounds ministry has the responsibility of caring for the
physical part of the church. They work with the Sexton to keep our
church and Youth Building well maintained. Special days are
scheduled for volunteers to help clean, paint and repair.
EVANGELISM
The Evangelism ministry leads the congregation in sharing the Good News
of God's Love and Forgiveness. Presenting Jesus as Lord to those who
want to hear this message is our first commitment, whether we are
welcoming visitors, calling on those who want to hear our witness, or
leading newcomers into full participation in this community of faith.
PERSONNEL
Meet with staff annually for review and encouragment. They
deal with salaries and benefits.
FINANCE
This ministry prepares and monitors the budget, watches income and
expenditures, oversees the style of stewardship campaigns, produces
various documents pertaining to finance for the Board of Session and
other entities, oversees audits, is liaison to banks, monitors the
creation and function of an Endowment fund and the ramifications of
that responsibility.
